COVER UP WITH MMUK MAN

I have teamed up with MMUK Man once again, this time to try out some of their best-selling concealers! As mentioned in my previous post with MMUK Man, I rarely wear makeup unless I have fake tanned ready for a big night out just to add a little more definition to my face and to highlight my features!

The three concealers I received were:

  • Close Up Anticerne - N5 Cool Natural Shade

I used this predominantly for my dark under eye circles and found that it was easily applied and that the texture was rather fine and didn't feel too heavy or dense on my skin! The shade was natural looking and matched my skin tone pretty well. My under eyes appeared brighter and whilst the concealer didn't cover all of it, it definitely took away the darkness!

  • Touch-Up Veil - N55

This was a complete first for me as I had never used a Concealer Pen before! To use this, I turned the end of the Concealer Pen a couple of times for the liquid to seep out of the brush and then began to apply this under my eyes, along with my nose and on a few pesky blackheads. The shade was too dark for my skin type when I hadn't fake tanned, yet when I did fake tan, the shade matched well! This Touch-Up Veil felt light on my skin and I liked that it was rather discreet and didn't look as though I was wearing anything.

  • Liquid Concealer - N55 Cool Neutral

Similar to the Touch-Up Veil in the sense that I applied this Liquid Concealer in the same areas; Under eyes, nose and on my blackheads. The only thing different between them both is that the shade of the Liquid Concealer was more of a match on my natural skin! Again, I liked that this too was also discreetly looking and the Liquid Concealer didn't feel too wet or oily on my skin which I really liked.

In terms of the best coverage and my favourite concealer out of the three, for me, it would have to be the Touch-Up Veil! Easy to use, lightweight in terms of its texture and discreet looking!

KIEHL'S: POWERFUL-STRENGTH LINE-REDUCING CONCENTRATE

I recently had a meeting with Kiehl's over in Manchester at their King's Street Boutique which was in fact, my first ever blogger Event way back when I started blogging! I have since become one of their Store Ambassadors which is a huge honour and my most recent trip was to learn more about the newly-updated version of their best selling Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate!

The difference between the old formulation and the new is that the product has now been formulated with 10.5% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C, 2% Ascorbyl Glucoside Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. A whopping 2.5% more Vitamin C which will ensure your skin gets the most out of this product and it also states that this will address the visible signs of ageing. For the past 2 weeks I have been trialling this out for myself, and as a big fan of Kiehl's anyway, this product was yet another winner in my eyes!

Prior to the application, I made sure that my skin had been cleansed (with the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil), and I then used the Cactus Flower Mist to tone my face. Once I had cleansed and toned my skin, this was when I then used the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate! 

Due to having a combination skin type of dry/oily, I had been told to try and apply the serum to my T-Zone as this would prove most effective.

As I began to apply the serum, a warming sensation began to take place which is completely natural due to the active ingredients, so if you are trying this out for the first time, do not panic! After the first few days, I began to notice that my skin appeared more hydrated and felt smoother to touch. The few lines on my forehead appeared less noticeable but please note, this was after having used this product consistently for the past couple of weeks. The serum had a good consistency to it and didn't feel too heavy or dense when applied on my face.

GLAMGLOW: FLASHMUD BRIGHTENING TREATMENT

A couple of years ago I sampled the GlamGlow: ThirstyMud Hydration Treatment, and what I remembered most about the ThirstyMud was how effective this was for my skin in terms of how refreshed and hydrated my skin felt! Fast forward a couple of years to now, and I have very kindly been gifted the GlamGlow: FlashMud Brightening Treatment. Having had a good experience already prior to receiving the FlashMud, it is fair to say I was rather excited to try this Treatment out!

To begin with, I cleansed my face and patted it completely dry and then began to massage the FlashMud onto my skin. The first thing that struck me with the FlashMud product was the scent, that sweet, sweet Raspberry scent, taking me back to my childhood days eating Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream on a hot Summer's Day! Is it just me that thinks it's Raspberry? Anyway... Back to the application!

Once the FlashMud had covered my face, I then left this on for 20 minutes as recommended to maximise the Treatment to its full potential and as time got closer to the end, the colour began to fade a little which was a good indicator to the FlashMud's ingredients absorbing into my skin properly. The texture of FlashMud was a good consistency and didn't feel too heavy or dense when applied on my skin. After 20 minutes had passed, I then began to wipe off the FlashMud and my skin felt so much smoother and cleansed! 

FlashMud Brightening Treatment recommends that after your first use, you then use for 3 days in a row to really begin to notice a difference and for me personally, I began to see a difference after 2 days. I have many late nights which can often make my skin look tired, dull and not so chic, but with the FlashMud Brightening Treatment, I really felt as though this gave my skin a healthy glow without looking too shiny and I loved how much brighter and clean my skin looked!

THE POWER OF THE SUIT - MOSS BROS

For the upcoming S/S '18 season, I had been gifted a suit of my choice from Moss Bros! Following on from the shoot I partnered up with them last Winter, it was a great feeling to have been approached by them again. 

I have never really been a 'suit' person, instead, I would perhaps wear a blazer on its own with a pair of jeans or some suit trousers with a biker jacket to add a twist, so it was rather new and fresh to me to wear a full 3 piece suit but it's safe to say I definitely felt more sophisticated and strong! 

I chose the Skinny Fit Khaki Suit which now comes with a Free Shirt & Tie of your choice! I chose this Suit as I felt the colour was different to anything I own myself and I felt that it was a fresh choice in time for S/S! Myself and Matt McCormick went to Granary Wharf in Leeds and found a run down area to contrast against the sharp, strong suit. I am very happy with the images, and I hope you all like the images too!

GETTING CREATIVE WITH REEVES

A few years ago I studied Art & Design and specialised in Graphics, so I have always had an eye for Graphics which has come into play in terms of my blog and my branding but whilst having a blog has been absolutely incredible, I haven't really been in touch with my 'creative' side as much as I would have liked to!

When Reeves contacted me with regards to creating a Valentine's post, I was immediately planning out what I could do in terms of the creativity and it has been so fun tapping into my creative side again!

I decided to create a card which may sound a little simple but I wanted to imitate my font across the card and it's not been as easy as it may look given how intricate my font is... After several attempts I finally felt I had produced a card that best matched my font and to create this, I used:

I chose to go for the Pastels as I like how soft the final finish is and how effective it is!

Within the Pastel Paper Pack you get 16 A4 pieces of Pastel Paper, all of which are acid-free and multi-coloured. 4 sheets of Yellow, White, Green and Blush. The Soft Pastels has 12 colours all of which range from black, greens, blues, reds and oranges right through to the lighter colours of yellow and white.
