SUNDAY RILEY: TIDAL BRIGHTENING ENZYME WATER CREAM

I have truly fallen in love with the Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream by Sunday Riley and the reason for this is because this Water Cream does exactly what it says. It's easily absorbent on my skin and after several minutes after application, my face is glowing. AMAZING!

The Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream contains Hyaluronic Acid which attracts and retains up to 1000x its own weight in water which boosts hydration which allows your skin to appear firmer, 'plumper' and much more dewy! 

INGREDIENTS:

  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Alpha Arbutin
  • Tamarind Seed Extract
  • Papain
  • Horse Chestnut Seed Extract

Prior to application, I made sure that my face had been thoroughly cleansed and used this both in the morning and at nighttime. I found it to be more effective in the morning as it brightened up my skin for the day ahead and my skin's texture felt smooth and hydrated. The texture of the Water Cream itself was incredibly light and didn't feel too dense or heavy when applied! I also loved that the Water Cream didn't give a shine to my skins complexion, but instead a healthy, dewy glow which gained me a compliment or two!

The only slight downside to this I find is that in terms of how much you get within the jar, I feel that perhaps there could be slightly more in there as I have almost run out after nearly 2 months... Don't get me wrong, however, that is due to continuous use I might add, but that is just a preference of mine! I guess this will have to be added to my birthday wishlist which is only a week away now, just saying...

HOTEL CHOCOLAT - EXTRA THICK EGG

One thing that I always look forward to when it comes to Easter-time, is that it is that time of year where you can stuff your face with as much chocolate as possible! I mean, sometimes this isn't the only time but anyway, enough about that...

GLAMGLOW - WATERBURST

With GLAMGLOW's newest release; Waterburst, I have recently had the pleasure of trialling this out on my skin! A water cream created with water from Jeju Island in the South Sea of Korea, formulated with GLAMGLOW's Moisture-Lock Technology which aims to deliver 72 hours of instant and long-lasting hydration keeping your skin hydrated and refreshed, it's safe to say that I was rather excited to try this out!

Waterburst contains GLAMGLOW's innovative Triple Hyaluronic Acid Complex with varying sizes of Hyaluronic Acid molecules which are powerful enough to absorb 1000x times their weight in water. Now that you know more about the science behind the product, I will now begin with my review!

I first began to cleanse to ensure that my face was completely dry and product-free prior to applying Waterburst. I applied the Waterburst into the palms of my hands and smoothed evenly over my face. Now, I don't want to create any hype or to seem I'm exaggerating at all, but I noticed a difference instantly.

My face almost immediately appeared brighter and had a fresh, dewy appearance! The moisturiser felt incredibly lightweight upon my skin and absorbed pretty quickly also. I liked how this didn't feel too dense nor heavy as opposed to other moisturisers I have tried in the past and I found that Waterburst was problem-free! I also need to comment on the scent of Waterburst, it smells delicious, almost like bubblegum!

GLOSSIER SUPER PURE SERUM REVIEW

Throughout last year I think it got to a point where I could no longer log onto my Instagram without seeing a Glossier product somewhere. Glossier was and still is EVERYWHERE! I had always been curious and keen to try Glossier out for myself to see what the hype was all about and I have to say, I completely get it.

Nearly all of Glossier products are:

  • hypoallergenic,
  • dermatologist-tested,
  • paraben free,
  • fragrance-free,
  • appropriate for all skin types,
  • cruelty-free,
  • vegan 

all of which of course are instant winners in my eyes!

I had been sent a few products from Glossier and whilst I will be talking about my nighttime routine in due course, I won't reveal all of the items that I received just yet... However, for this post I will be reviewing;

  • super pure serum / sérum

Key Ingredients: 

  1. Niacinamide - it has a powerful soothing action at the source of redness.
  2. Zinc PCA - this ingredient helps to clear out impurities and blocked pores both of which can cause blemishes.

I first began to apply the super pure serum after my skin had been cleansed and used 2 drops of the serum into the palms of my hands and applied all over my face. I had a couple of spots due to trying out various skincare products at once and the super pure serum claimed to reduce redness and breakouts, so I was a little dubious as to whether or not this would work for me.

Once I had applied this over my face, I could feel that instantly my face felt a lot smoother, hydrated and overall looked fresher! The redness from my spots appeared visibly reduced over several applications over 3/4 nights. I was pleasantly surprised with this serum as serums aren't necessarily my favourite type of skincare to use as often they don't seem to work on my skin. The texture of super pure felt lightweight, it didn't feel oily at all and I found that it easily absorbed into my skin!

I was fortunate enough to have received two fragrances from the Limited Edition Collection which were;

OAT & CORNFLOWER

Notes: Oats, Cornflower, Hazelnut, Vetiver

The opening of Oat & Cornflower begins with a rather woodsy feel to it with the Hazelnut note being the most prominent for me, which at first is crisp but shortly afterwards the fragrance then dries down into a much more smoother, well-rounded scent. For me, my favourite part was the dry-down, where the fragrance began to unravel its layers and what was left, was a warm base.

The longevity of Oat & Cornflower I found to last on my skin for up to 4 hours which was a little short compared to the other Jo Malone fragrances that I have reviewed before.

Having said that, Oat & Cornflower is a much softer, delicate scent, so I wasn't expecting the longevity to be as powerful as Myrrh & Tonka or Tobacco & Mandarin! I found the sillage to be light-medium and would recommend wearing this throughout the daytime!

GREEN WHEAT & MEADOWSWEET

Notes: Wheat, Green Notes, Grapefruit, Meadowsweet

I'll be honest, when I first smelt Green Wheat & Meadowsweet I was a little blasé about the scent. It didn't WOW me in the first few seconds so I disregarded it slightly. But, with any fragrance that I wear, I naturally give it a chance and wear it several times to really get a more rounded opinion and I have to say, this is now probably my favourite Jo Malone scent. Ever. I know, I've gone from one extreme to another but bear with!

The opening of Green Wheat & Meadowsweet is loud, bold and sharp. Initially, the opening is what put me off the fragrance but after several wears, that sharp boldness is what I now love! That freshness of the Green Notes begins with a citrusy feel that soon then dries down into a fruity and softer fragrance.

The longevity of Green Wheat & Meadowsweet lasted much longer than the Oat & Cornflower fragrance and lasted between 6/7 hours on my skin! I gained a lot of compliments from wearing this as it is a head turner due to that boldness within the fragrance and I would say that the sillage is medium-loud. I would recommend wearing this perhaps late evening/nighttime!
